When you are looking for a work comp quote in North Carolina, you need to be aware of what factors make up your premium. You need to look at the class codes that they are quoting and make sure they are the class codes that you and your employees are actually doing. If they class you at a lower cost class code to get your business, you will be hit with an audit bill after one year and you will have to pay the audit within 30 days. To avoid this problem, you need someone who will work with you before the policy goes into place and who will help you choose the correct class code and payroll amount so to avoid an audit bill later on. Another factor that you need to look at when you are getting workers comp quotes in NC, is the amount of payroll they are quoting. If one agent is quoting 100,000 in payroll and another agent is quoting 50,000 in payroll, the agent with 50,000 in payroll is always going to be cheaper. Again, in this scenario, you will be hit with an audit bill at the end of your policy year for the additional payroll. We will sit down with our clients to make sure we get their employees classes correctly with the correcty amount of payroll before the policy starts, and help our clients avoid costly audit bills. We can help you design a program to lower your workers compensation insurance premium by helping you set up a safety program, by excluding executive officers, or by adding deductibles. We have the experience that is needed to help you save money!

Beginning in April 2010, the EPA rule 40 CFR Part 745 went into effect requiring the use of Lead Safe Practices and other actions aimed at preventing lead poisoning. Under the rule, contractors performing renovation, repair and painting operations that could disturb lead-based paint in homes, child care facilities, and schools built before 1978 must be trained and certified to follow specific work practices to prevent lead contamination. Although the new EPA rule does not mandate insurance coverage for the contractor, contractors will have a significant pollution exposure.
